José González does Dawkins

I don't watch TV, but even I know about this amazing Sony ad featuring the music of José González and 250,000 bouncing colored balls:

González is a Swedish musician, and the song in the ad is "Heartbeats", a cover of a song from a group called "The Knife".

Now he has a new album out, and guess what? It's based, at least in part, on Richard Dawkins.

I know what I want for my birthday!

Ah, that explains it then...your aversion to the inference of design in nature.

Sigh...figures. It's pretty rare that I run across a blogger who is so adamant that ID is nonsense unless they adhere to the conclusion that design is merely an "illusion".

I know what "design" means when we apply it to human creations. But I don't know what "design" means as a pure philosophical category.

Does it only mean "pattern", or must there be a teleological component before we can claim "design"?

P. S. Didn't anyone ever tell you it was rude to sigh?
